The Ashaway
The Ashaway side view  A Safe Place for Ashes

The dangers of hot ashes from stoves or fireplaces are evident and we are reminded constantly by fire officials to keep these potential fire hazards in closed metal containers, not cardboard boxes or plastic pails.

This is where the Ashaway comes in. Designed in 1978 by my father Pete Taggett, a Master Blacksmith in Vermont, this closed covered hot ash storage container provides a safe place for the ashes to lose their energy.

The unique slanted front enables the user to place the Ashaway directly in front of the door of most stoves on the market. This allows the ashes and hot embers to be shoveled directly into the container eliminating the danger of them spilling onto the floor. With the capacity of a five gallon pail, the Ashway can hold several fillings before it must be emptied.

The Ashaway is one of the nice things about burning wood or coal. It keeps dust confined while sitting on the hearth just looking good. It gives piece of mind to know whatever the weather you can still empty the ashes to make your stove burn better.

The Ashaway comes completely assembled and coated with a durable powder coat finish. The Ashaway is made of much heavier gage steel than most flue pipe.

Remember what ever you do treat hot ashes with respect, they have a lot of power and it takes several days to lose it.
